The „RED SEA PROJECT” takes place in contemporary Egypt; the story was not „dreamt up”, nor was it an escape into exotic lands and surroundings.

It was inspired by my trip to the Red Sea a few years ago as a member of a team of divers. What was originally supposed to be merely a diving holiday, due to an unlucky series of coincidences, turned into an adventure with criminal undertones. Arrest, a campaign of slander in the press, two months in jail, waiting for a trial in Cairo, and finally a clandestine escape from Egypt – the intensity of these events is a story in itself, though their structure, dynamics and weight fall short of what happens to Jack Bromsky, the protagonist of this story.

“Red Sea Project” is a thriller, whose action takes place in modern times in Egypt and tells the story of Jack Bromsky, a Canadian of Polish origin, who endeavours to unravel the mystery of a tragic event, resulting in the death of his family.

What these two stories have in common is the place, situation and people, an atmosphere of fear and of the exotic; finally the motif of the „way”- from the luminous landscapes of the Sinai, through the murky labyrinths of an unknown land, down to the corrupt world of diplomacy.

The „Red Sea Project” is a screenplay for an adventure film, whose success will first and foremost depend on the quality of the story, which the reader may judge for himself.

I co-operated on the screenplay with the well-known script and science-fiction writer – Mirosław Jabłoński; in this way a tempestuous episode in my life was transformed into an idea for a film, which finds its expression in the present story.
